Dozens of Thousands of Runners Enliven Jakarta Marathon 2022

Tens of thousands of runners enliven the Jakarta Marathon 2022 sports tourism event which was released by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) at Plaza Utara Gelora Bung Karno, Sunday (10/16) morning.

The Jakarta Marathon 2022 event is divided into five categories, namely 5K (5,455 runners), Full Marathon (1,648 runners), Half Marathon (3,109 runners), 10K (3,973 runners), and children/maratoonz (124 runners). Meanwhile, as many as 864 runners from 25 foreign countries are also seen at the event.

"Are you ready guys!! keep safety while running, keep enjoying, and respecting other road users," expressed Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno before releasing the participants of the Jakarta Marathon.

He also expressed his gratitude to the participants who had participated in the sport tourism event.

"Thank you for supporting sports tourism, namely sports tourism. Don't forget to take a selfie, enjoy it, and promote it through our sports tourism social media," he stated.

While Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan congratulated the Jakarta Marathon 2022.

"This is a sports tourism event that has a positive impact on Jakarta as a global city," he explained.

He explained that the Jakarta administration supports and welcomes runners from various countries while enjoying the experience in Jakarta.

"Congratulations on the Jakarta Marathon 2022. Warm greetings from the city hall," he exclaimed.

Yulina (30), a resident of South Jakarta admitted she was happy with the return of the Jakarta Marathon 2022 after being stopped during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"It's been a long time since I participated in a mass running sports event. I and my work colleagues participated in celebrating the event," she said.
